The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has officially opened the 2025 application procedure.
Applications are now open and will close on 15 December 2024.
*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding
To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant should satisfy the subsequent requirements:
• Be considered a South African citizen or copyright who arises from a house that has a combined gross domestic earnings that doesn't exceed R350 000 for every annum.
• Individuals with disabilities qualify if their combined residence money doesn't exceed R600 000 per annum.
• SASSA recipients automatically qualify for 2025 nsfas application funding and need not post any evidence of income.
*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle
The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open to all South African citizens and permanent people from homes with combined R350 000 and R600 000 for each annum.
Applicants are reminded to supply the correct Id Document numbers, names, and surname, as reflected of their South African ID.
NSFAS only funds individuals who are studying or plan to research at a general public university or TVET college in South Africa.
All students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to wait until the last day.
Learners do not have to wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in the processing of their application.
